World Series Cupcakes: Part Two!!

Here they are: the finished product. I’m very happy with how these cupcakes ended up. This was my first fondant experience, and I know I’ll be working with it again!

To start things off, Kath (my adorable mother, who didn’t really know what she was getting into) started making a quick batch of buttercream. My favorite vanilla buttercream is also a Magnolia Bakery recipe- very simple, and produces delicious results every time.

While I colored the fondant (sorry, no pictures of the coloring process- it left my hands very sticky and covered with food coloring!), Kath iced the cupcakes. I used Wilton Icing Colors: red, blue, yellow and brown. It might seem odd to have double icing, but the fondant needs something to stick to.

These cupcakes have been a long time coming, and I wanted to make them each special, so every cupcake is a little different. To make the designs, I rolled out the colored fondant with a fondant rolling pin and cut out the shapes with a small, sharp knife. Some of them were easier than others! For those of you that have been waiting to see these cupcakes for a few days (or months), I hope that they live up to your expectations! I’m so proud of our Phils and glad that I could celebrate them in this way. I know they’ll do an amazing job this weekend during their home games – after all, there’s only one October. Go Phils!

*If you have a question about how I made a specific cupcake, please comment and I’d love to explain it!

Hey, your cupcakes turned out fantastic! You did a terrific job. I have a box of Wilton’s Fondant that I keep saying I’m going to try out. No luck, yet.

Looks like it’s going to be a tight series! For you guys to win it, I think Ryan Howard needs to step up. He’s bat has been flat. Though I don’t think any of the Rays are lighting the world on fire either. I’m thinking it’s going to go down to game 7. May the best team win!

Those cupcakes are ill. I am so amazed by your work everyday. You have a very lucky husband. I love the Phillies, and I know that they will win the ship. This city needs it, you need it, and I need it.

Looking at these cupcakes made it so werth the wait. The cupcake with the #19 on it is my favorite. Dobbs is so clutch.

I’ve been trying to win tickets for the series for days now! To bad I can’t persuade a scalper with one of these cupcakes, I’d be sure to be sitting in the second row in right field.

Nice work…Way to go. Be sure to check out this blog I frequently visit, http://mileycyrus.blogspot.com/
