Best Quick Pizza Dough

Everyone loves pizza. It’s basically the law.

I have been craving lots of pizza lately, but didn’t build up the energy to make this recipe until last night. The best thing about this pizza dough recipe is that you can use it right away, and you’ll have your pizza in under 30 minutes- which is often quicker than the delivery guys anyways.

I got this recipe from my sister-in-law (the Passionate Homemaker) via Money Saving Mom, and I’ve stuck with the recipe ever since. It’s so easy to pull together short notice, and actually tastes good, too. It’s a God-send!

Our favorite pizza to make is BBQ Chicken. I use cooked chicken, BBQ sauce, cheddar/jack cheese, and red onions. Husbands go crazy for this stuff! I’m also a fan of Hawaiian, but that’s just me. So next time you get a craving for pizza, all you need to do is grab this recipe and hit the pantry.

Pizza Crust
(from Money Saving Mom)

1 Tbsp. active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (105 to 115 degrees F.)
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil (I use olive oil)
2 1/2 cups flour

Dissolve the yeast in the water. Add the rest of the ingredients in and mix. Dump onto a floured surface. Knead into a smooth dough (five minutes or so). Roll out and press down onto a greased pizza pan. Add toppings. Bake at 450 degrees F. for around 12-15 minutes until the crust looks crispy and lightly browned.

*Note- you can also make double or triple of the recipe, freeze it, and then pull it out in the morning to thaw in the fridge for an evening meal. Even simpler!

Great recipe! All of my recipes involve it rising and waiting, kneading, rising and waiting… I’m never patient enough. I will definitely be using this!

    Thanks for sharing! <3

  2. Wow – I’ve never made pizza without having to let the dough rise. This is definitely worth a try!

Oh I like this recipe! We make pizza a lot in your house and I usually just pick up some pre-made dough from the pizzeria. This looks really easy and would help cut down the cost of the grocery bill just a little bit more:)

Can I use bread flour, white whole wheat, wheat or other flours? Or is it best to use all purpose (bleached or unbleached).

I made this with my daughter the other night and we had a blast! My 15 year old son had a friend over and they LOVED it…said it was better than Domino’s. 🙂
We used spaghetti sauce I already had in the pantry for the sauce which worked out perfectly. I also added garlic powder to the crust before the sauce.
Today we have kid’s sports games to attend….so I am trying our a par-bake method so I can toss them into the oven before we go and take them with us to the football game.
    Wish me luck!
